Ceremony

This is the church where we'll be getting married.

Flowers

Picture
We're using Market Street for flowers.  For the bouquets and boutonnieres we plan to use mini calla lilies, tulips, and roses in different shades of pink (with some white for Nick and me).  Here is an inspiration photo (we would skip the hydrangea to keep it a little simpler).

For the reception we will likely do non floral centerpieces or a few single stems, and we'll use candles and vases provided by the venue.  The chapel for the ceremony is beautiful as is, so we likely won't do any decorating there to save on time and money.

Reception

Picture
We considered several venues that would allow us to do BYOB and more DIY stuff to save money.  But in the end, because we're planning the wedding from afar, we decided to book our reception at a nearby hotel where they will take care of all the decorations, booze, and catering so we don't have to worry about it!  As an added bonus, we'll have less people traveling after the reception.  We're going to stay there on our wedding night as well, so it will be really nice to just get on the elevator and be "home" at the end of the day.  And the hotel is even going to send up some extra plates of food for us in case we don't get a chance to eat! Ha.

Tequila!

Picture
My extended family loves tequila, and pretty much every big family event includes a little shot drinking.  So I'm toying with the idea of doing a tequila toast instead of a champagne toast for those who want it.  Those who don't can of course still have a glass of champagne or whatever else.  I'll be honest, I will probably have both!

Cake

Picture
Here is our inspiration photo.  For ours, the flower centers will be black, and we are adding scattered white dots to the bottom layer.  We won't be having a topper, as we want the second layer to be the focal point.

The whole cake will be covered in cream cheese icing (!!!!)  And each layer will be flavored as follows:
Top--red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting filling
2--strawberry cake with fudge filling
3--mango cake with cream cheese frosting filling
4--white chocolate cake with raspberry filling
